Her Plan Failed
Betty sighed; her plan had failed. She had hoped to win over the boy’s trust with the gift she brought, but the boy didn’t even acknowledge her.
And why would the woman take away the coloring book? What if the boy changed his mind and later on did want to color?
There had to be something else she could do.
